What fuels Ijeoma Ngozi Obiajunwa-Ajiamah?

What is your greatest influence?  Failure is my greatest influence because it impossible to live without failing at something, unless you live so cautiously that you might as well not have lived at all, in which case you fail by default. J.K. Rowling, the Author said.
It seems that failure tends to be more public than success. Or at least that’s what we perceive it to be. We fret it, we try to avoid it, and we question ourselves every time we have unconventional ideas. But the simple truth is – no great success was ever achieved without failure. It may be one epic failure. Or a series of failures – such as 10,000 attempts to create a light bulb or Dyson’s 5,126 attempts to invent a bag-less vacuum cleaner. But, whether we like it or not, failure is a necessary stepping stone to achieving our dreams. Permit me to share this collection of inspiring quotes by great men with you to inspire, encourage, empower and motivate some great men out of a box society has fit them in, to suit their whims and caprices:

1. "Failure isn't fatal, but failure to change might be" - John Wooden

3. “Success is most often achieved by those who don't know that failure is inevitable.” - Coco Chanel

4. “Only those who dare to fail greatly can ever achieve greatly.” - Robert F. Kennedy

9. “Failure should be our teacher, not our undertaker. Failure is delay, not defeat. It is a temporary detour, not a dead end. Failure is something we can avoid only by saying nothing, doing nothing, and being nothing.” - Denis Waitley

10. “When you take risks you learn that there will be times when you succeed and there will be times when you fail, and both are equally important.” - Ellen DeGeneres

11. “It's failure that gives you the proper perspective on success.” - Ellen DeGeneres

24. “You build on failure. You use it as a stepping stone. Close the door on the past. You don't try to forget the mistakes, but you don't dwell on it. You don't let it have any of your energy, or any of your time, or any of your space.” - Johnny Cash

25. “It’s not how far you fall, but how high you bounce that counts.” - Zig Ziglar

 27. “No human ever became interesting by not failing. The more you fail and recover and improve, the better you are as a person. Ever meet someone who’s always had everything work out for them with zero struggle? They usually have the depth of a puddle. Or they don’t exist.” - Chris Hardwick

Who are your top three models?
These great women who were passionate about reaching out and helping others in their communities even when they needed help themselves below are my lifetime models:

1. Michelle Obama, the 44th First Lady and wife to President Barack Hussein Obama, lawyer, Chicago City administrator and community outreach worker who focused her attention on issues such as the support of military families, helping working women balance career and family and encouraging national service. During the first year of the Obama presidency, Michelle and her husband volunteered at homeless shelters and soup kitchens in the Washington D.C. area. Michelle also has made appearances at public schools, stressing the importance of education and volunteer work.
2. The Nobel Peace Prize winner and living saint Mother Theresa who lived a life of sacrifice, love and kindness, encouraging individuals and corporate to commit to social responsibility and do their bit for the world is my next model. Lessons I have learnt from her personal commitment and social responsibility have not only built my awareness in volunteering, it has also sharpened my commitment in uplifting society, developed my ability to persevere through criticisms and deepened my faith.

3. The Influential U. N Ambassador Alysia Sylberg, one of the World's Most Inspiring Women who is ever conscious about supporting women in their entrepreneurship skills and committed to her causes in uplifting the woman, is my drive and role model.

Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?
Five years from today, I see myself in the Committee of Nations, effecting policies that will better the lives of the poor and ordinary people, women and children,  Making impact and Touching lives globally.

What is the African's woman challenge?  The African woman's critics blame her for lack of education to handle issues at hand, means to eradicate poverty stating she fantasizes poverty,  transparency and mismanagement of funds when given a leadership opportunity to make change. Enduring all the criticism and persevering by doing, the actions of the African woman speaks louder. I think if she has adequate access to finance, training and capacity building programs to upgrade her skills, she will be empowered enough to handle the tasks, for it is said: "My people perish for lack of knowledge"

What do you do to relax yourself?
When I am hit by the depressing waves of the era or stressful moments words can't explain, I walk  bare feet. After which,  I switch off my phones and read an inspiring and empowering book boost my urge to stay on track and not be distracted.
